I grew up in Texas. My family taught me how to be a gracious host for visitors in my home. The mistreatment of immigrants by the United States and the State of Texas disgusts me. It is illegal and immoral. It is shameful and embarrassing. It violates every element of common decency and every oath recited by our elected officials. Donald Trump claims immigrants commit more crimes than US citizens. That is “fake news”. I have a thousand-dollar bet with anyone who can produce statistics that prove Donald Trump and his fascist fleabag Stephen Miller are correct on their numbers. Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Senator John Cornyn, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton are a bunch of criminal fascists who are enabled by that unstable demented derelict living in the White House.
Elected officials abuse immigrants because they cannot vote them out of office. Elected officials tell lies about immigrants to scare the public. Elected officials pass laws to separate families, to endanger the weak and needy, and to treat human beings like animals. The lies and abuse stop today. I took an oath to fight fascist tyrants and to protect immigrants who are wrongfully blamed for social problems. The system does not protect you automatically. Demand justice to get justice.
